Using a trauma-informed approach, we provide education on mental health, stress management, healthy relationships, and everyday strategies to navigate life’s challenges.

This will be planned together through an initial assessment with content tailored for any age and circumstance.

We specialise in working with individuals facing complex life challenges, ensuring they feel seen, heard, and respected through every step.

Understanding Trauma and its Impacts

Trauma can affect your body and mind for years after an event, leaving you on high alert, anxious, disconnected, or emotionally numb.

This happens because your brain’s “fight or flight” system can become overactive or sometimes shut down, disrupting your emotions, sleep, and daily life.

We help you recognise these patterns, understand how trauma impacts your relationships, work, study, and family life, gently guiding you to reconnect with your feelings, restore balance, and build resilience for long term healing.

Workshops & Groups

Our lively, interactive workshops and groups blend learning, connection, and fun.

Small groups of 3–4 or larger gatherings explore practical skills, share experiences, and build resilience- all in a welcoming, supportive space.

You can join/request a one-off taster, an ongoing program, or request a tailored session or bulk booking - the choice is yours!

Holistic Counselling & Mental Health Support

If you're reading this, maybe something inside you is tired, not just tired from the day, but soul-tired.

Maybe you’re carrying things that feel too heavy, too confusing, or too invisible to put into words.

Maybe you’ve been surviving for so long, you’ve forgotten what it feels like to simply be.

I want you to know: you don’t have to carry it all on your own anymore.

Here, counselling isn’t about being fixed or having all the answers. It’s about creating a space where you can finally exhale. A space where your emotions, grief, anger, confusion, numbness, or hope,  are all welcome. A space where you're met with warmth, not judgement. Realness, not therapy jargon.

Whether you're navigating childhood trauma, emotional shutdown, anxiety, grief, burnout, or the deep ache of feeling disconnected from yourself or others - I’ll meet you right there. We’ll go at your pace, not anyone else's. Together, we can explore your survival strategies utilised or outgrown, the emotions that don’t have names yet, the relationships that hurt, and the parts of you still waiting to be heard.

Our work might involve:

  • Making sense of anxiety, depression, emotional overwhelm, or identity struggles

  • Supporting your nervous system through body-based and regulation tools

  • Exploring safe relationships, boundaries, codependency, and attachment wounds

  • Finding words for experiences that have felt unspeakable for far too long

  • Reclaiming your sense of self, especially if you've felt lost, silenced, or too much

  •

You don’t need to have it all figured out. You don’t need to explain everything perfectly.

You just need to show up as you are: messy, unsure, raw, numb or quiet. That’s more than enough.

This space is for you. The real you. The one who’s been holding on, waiting to feel safe enough to begin.
And even if you don’t know where to start, we do..

Practical Support and Advocacy

If you're reading this, there's a good chance you’re carrying more than anyone can see. Maybe you’ve been doing everything you can to stay afloat, managing bills or services like dreaded letters, housing or legal stress. Not to even mention the NDIS confusion, or creating financial budgets, or maybe your life is just feeling like too much on top of your daily routines and the KitKat ad lied.

Whether your daily involves employment/studying/parenting or chronic illnesses you may be, deep down, tired of doing it all alone.

This is where we come in.

Our practical support at Real Life Emotions isn’t just paperwork or ticking boxes. It’s people-centered, trauma-aware support that honours your reality, both the practical chaos and the emotional weight that comes with it. Because we know that behind every service you’re trying to access, there’s a real person with real needs, fears, and hopes.

Whether you're dealing with recent diagnosis or unemployment in the household, the NDIS, Centrelink, housing issues, mental health services, or the complexities of systems like child protection or family law, we walk alongside you, not ahead of you. We offer support coordination, advocacy, system navigation, and planning, while also making space for your emotions, your identity, your values, and your pace.

Our support includes:

  • Navigating systems like NDIS, housing, Centrelink, mental health, child protection and debts
  • Writing support letters, preparing for meetings, and connecting with the right services
  • Safety planning, crisis support, and referrals
  • Culturally responsive and neurodiversity-informed plan
  • Helping you set meaningful goals and figure out what’s next. On your terms
  • Offering a safe, non-judgmental space to pause and breathe
  •

We know how heavy life can feel when systems are cold and unkind, and you’ve had to fight just to be heard. Whether you need help untangling the practical stuff, making sense of the next step, or simply having someone by your side, we're here.

You deserve support that sees the whole of you and not just your paperwork, your diagnosis, or your current situation. It may not even be you. It may be a family member?

Even if it feels messy. Even if you don’t know where to begin. We do.

Trauma-Informed Education

There’s a strength in you that the world may have overlooked.
You’ve sat in rooms where people talked over you, made decisions about you instead of with you, and used complicated words to hide power behind policies. You’ve been asked to explain yourself, justify your needs, or shrink your voice - when really, you deserved to be heard from the very start.

We’re here to change that.

At Real Life Emotions, our advocacy isn’t about speaking for you - it’s about walking beside you as you reclaim your voice, your rights, and your place in the room. Whether you’re dealing with the NDIS, Centrelink, child protection, housing, education, or mental health systems - we stand beside you. Not above you. Not ahead of you.

We know that systems can be cold, confusing, and sometimes unsafe, especially when you’ve lived through trauma, adversity, or years of being dismissed. But your voice matters. Your story matters. And you don’t have to navigate this alone.

We offer support with:

  • Attending meetings (like NDIS reviews, case plans, or school conferences)
  • Preparing letters and documentation with you, not for you
  • Advocacy that honours your culture, your identity, and your story
  • Coaching to help you set boundaries, understand your rights, and speak up
  • Support through complaints, appeals, and when you just need someone in your corner
  • Building the confidence to say: “I matter. I deserve to be here.”

You are not too much. You are not too complicated.
You are worth listening to.

And if you’re not ready to speak up yet - that’s okay.
We’ll help hold the space until you are.

Understanding Trauma and its Impacts

Sometimes healing starts with understanding.
Not just “coping” - but finally understanding why your body responds the way it does. Why you shut down. Why you feel “too much.”

Our psychoeducation sessions offer trauma-informed, emotionally safe spaces to learn, reflect, and grow. These sessions are gentle, evidence-based, and tailored for real people - not perfect ones.

We explore:

  • Emotional literacy & nervous system care
  • Trauma responses, shame, dissociation, and recovery
  • Boundaries and self-advocacy skills
  • Building emotional regulation for yourself and others
  • Parenting & co-regulation strategies

Delivered 1:1 or in small group settings, these sessions help you build real-life tools for emotional safety, resilience, and connection.

You don’t have to perform or pretend. Just bring your truth, we’ll walk from there.

Workshops & Groups

There’s something powerful about learning in a room where people just get it.
Where you don’t have to explain the weight you’re carrying, because others are carrying it too.

Our workshops and groups are trauma-informed, peer-sensitive, and built to hold space for real conversations.
Whether you're parenting through trauma, navigating systems, or rebuilding confidence.

We offer group learning that’s honest, safe, and strength-based.

We offer:

  • Parenting workshops (Tuning into Kids/ Teens, Bringing Up Great Kids)

  • Child, Youth & Young Carer support groups

  • Resilience circles

  • Emotional processing groups (identity, trauma, grief)

  • Rhythm 2 Recovery group programs

These groups centre your safety, your pace, and your voice.
